Re: your original reply to me...Tracy said much of what I was going to say. The burden of proof rests in the hands of the person making the assertion. This is basically the argumentum ad ignorantium.

I stated I would actively oppose efforts to prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing guns to protect their homes. It's fair to say Walter took issue with that. I stated that it took me all of two seconds to find a clear and documented case where owning a gun successfully protected a domicile. Walter replied that for every one of those, there were more instances where owning a gun at home lead to someone innocent being shot/killed.

He made an assertion - I asked him for facts to prove it. And I get backlash for doing so. Now, it doesn't bother me personally - I'm not one bit surprised you're leading the charge and calling me a "coward" to deflect things and take the pressure off him.

When conversations get testy, you have a history of getting your dander up and launching personal attacks. (Oh, now it's my turn to back up an assertion). I believe a while back you drew a careless analogy between someone (I think it was JVP) and Hitler. So we've seen this before.

So I asked Walter to provide some facts to support his asssertion - and I ask him a yes/no question. I haven't received a reply. He doesn't have to, no one wil hold a gold to his head (whoops...bad choice of words).....but your reply is pretty inverted, IMO.

So attack all you wish, though it's probably in your best interests to tone down the "Person X is a coward" stuff . The other day I disagreed emphatically with Tamar on something, but you'll notice I didn't launch the kind of personal venom we've seen from you. If you keep this up, in my view the UT should have you go sit in the corner for a spell or two.

p.s. I do not deny that every year, senseless injuries occur because of people carelessly handling guns. This is an issue that needs to be addressed.
