I was wondering if it's only the UK that has a proliferation of ads for postal gold companies, since the recession has bitten.

Strikes me they're just cashing in on others' misfortune. Started with just one, with a name like PostalGold4U, now there's lots of 'em - even sponsoring TV shows. They even have the cheek to refer to one's "unwanted gold" - like we've had our use out of it and now don't want it any more, with happy smiling hoi poloi chuffed cos they've received a few quid in the mail for all that gold they had hanging around.

I've been very tempted to send them a few "nuggets" of my own (not gold, mind, unless I've been eating sweet corn) but the envelopes they send you are, like, registered or summat.

Money begets money, at the expense of the poor. Grrrrrr - makes me mad!
