I am reading this code and not understanding what it is doing:

    internal static ProjectResources GetProjectResources(
      ProjectTracker.DalLinq.Assignment[] data)
    {
      return DataPortal.FetchChild<ProjectResources>(data);
    }

In the first instance, what do the [] indicate here: ProjectTracker.DalLinq.Assignment[].

Secondly, what does the word "data" mean?
