I actually quite like her.

OK, I guess we see her differently.

I suppose my view of her might be different had McCain NOT chosen her. But as it stands, most viewed her as severely overmatched.

Given the concerns about McCain's age, choosing her effectively put a huge bursting hole in the middle of the McCain boat (whch was sinking anyway).

Of the 4 (McCain, Obama, Palin, and Biden), she had the least experience, AND was the least scholarly. One of the reasons I voted for Bill Clinton in 1992 (yes, I voted for him in '92) was because of his impressive credentials, and the fact that he seemed like a moderate Democrat, and even conservative on issues dealing with crime and punishment. Of course, scholarly doesn't always equate to common sense and guts when needed. Palin has some guts, I'll grant her that - but would be too careless.

All of these discussions are coffee-shop talk - she will never be elected President.
