Those of us without teenage daughters can fantasize all we like about how cool it will all be when the time comes, including our own remarkable ability to navigate the difficulties described by lesser parents, but all evidence is that there will come a time when K2 realizes that teenagers know everything and oldsters like K1 know nothing. At which point a parent can drive them away or a parent can learn to pick battles. Of course you may be "lucky" enough to have a blamange of a kid who will plod through her teenage years but that seems unlikely- more likely you'll end up with a firebrand who will want everything pierced as a symbol of the tortured world in which she finds herself. ;-)
