It's like Access on steriods. You'll get a much better database than Jet. And you can write one application that will run exactly the same way whether it sits on someone's laptop or is on a server shared by hundreds of users. It will also make replication a lot easier. You can let a user take some or all of an application's data off-line and replicate with the main database. Kind of like VFP's off-line views but much better.
