>>Very good book. The movie reviews have not been enthusiastic. You may like the scenery, though. Sounds like a Peter Jackson vision of Heaven.

>At least part of it was filmed right by one of Marshal's company's developments. They got paid a little something for use of some of their ground.

>I heard part of an interview with Stanley Tucci, who plays the villain, and it doesn't sound like a chick flick to me.

Oddly enough, I read one with him in the paper on the train this morning. He put a lot of work into the character's appearance, aiming for a subtly creepy looking "average looking guy" of the 1970s. He said his thoughts were on the bleak side for a while there, between the movie and his personal life. His wife was fighting breast cancer. (She died last spring). He said he was glad his next project, "Julie and Julia," was much more lighthearted. I'm not sure whether I will see "The Lovely Bones" or not but Tucci would be a plus. He has been terrific in everything I have ever seen him in.
(The Trib's movie critic, who I respect, gave it 2.5 stars out of 4).
