As for Thigpen....you may want to hit me, but I've never been an Oscar Peterson fan. Tried listening to him in my 20's, 30's, and 40's....and he does nothing for me. The only Oscar Peterson album I like is one where Prez (Lester Young) plays - smooth but has some pep.
I have some of Thigpen's work with Billy Taylor on my MP3 player, since it's a bit more lively.
