Ever try McIntosh Toffee? It came in a red tartan cardboard box about 6 inches long by 4 inches wide by a quarter inch thick (all figures thereabouts). We used to smash the unopened box against a brick wall to break the toffee inside. You had to be careful with the pieces though. They were like thick shards of glass. Once you got chewing it though, it softened up and was incredible. I don't dare eat it nowadays because I'm sure it would pull out all my fillings.
