The font didn't change.
The funny thing is that the result is different on the other machine (I develop on two machines). On the 'yesterday' machine I saw the square character. On this other machine I see no character at all.
Anyway, I have decided to adjust the message. It no longer contains tabs, so the problem is 'gone'. :-)
