I had a problem with mscomm.ocx that may be the same. During the install process, the message "unable to register ocx" was displayed. Tried reg32ocx from VB, didn't work. The resolution was that the mscomm.ocx that I was using was bad. Use explorer to get properties of file, file should have 2 property tabs General and Version. If the Version tab is missing, then the .ocx will not register itself under Foxpro. Get an original Foxpro version of the .ocx from the Foxpro media.
