Interesting. So, on the sort of time-scale you mention, the guts of the book need to be in place 4-5 months before publication. Does that mean any .Net 4.0 book that's due to be published now was mainly written even before the last beta? That makes the 'It could be a marketing thing' sound likely........

I should know more about the business since I had one daughter in the publishing biz. in London and another in N.Y.C. who's currently P.A. to the CEO of a major book chain in the U.S.

>It could be a marketing thing. If the book is out too soon, it might look like it relies too much on beta content that may have changed. It could be that one feature changed enough that a single chapter was revised. It could be that the book was just plain behind schedule.
