The last pick probably didn't matter a bit, unless they had somehow converted fourth and long on the next play. Ryan Longwell sure as heck wasn't going to kick a 55 yard field goal. In all likelihood it still would have gone to overtime.
My gripe, an old one, is that the Vikings didn't get a chance in OT. The Saints won the toss, marched down, and kicked a field goal to win it. Favre and the rest of the Vikings' offense never got to take the field. That is really unfair. I think they should alter the rule so each team is guaranteed one possession. If still tied, then it becomes sudden death as it is now.
I found myself cheering for the Vikings but am not a bit disappointed that the Saints are going to the Super Bowl. In fact, I am not going to be disappoiinted by either outcome because I like the Colts, too.
