>>>>>I understand that in some college football (at least in the Ivies, don't know where else), an OT consists of each team getting the ball on the 20 and having one possession to score. If someone is ahead after that, the game ends. If not, they do it again. Sounds a lot more fair.

>>>>>I would either like to see college rules for OT (but NOT starting so close to the opponent's goal line)....or a rule that you can only end OT with a TD.

>>>>I hate sudden death. My preference is for the way Basketball handles overtime. A little harder to do fairly in Football, but still...

>>>>The Vikes should have won the game, but kept making mistakes. The Vikes offensive line was an offense. They were letting Favre get clobbered over and over. In the end though, Favre made one of the most boneheaded plays in the annals of football. In spite of all their mistakes, the Vikes had the game won.
>>>>
>>>>Stupid!!!!
>>>
>>>I agree.... the Vikes were the superior team, but committed one boneheaded turnover after another and kept the Saints in the game. Take away the turnovers (Farves last one was the worst) and they would have won easily.
>>>
>>>I was pulling a little more for the Saints than the Vikes (since the Saints are from the Panthers division), and I cringed every time the Vikes got back the ball (the could easily move down the field quickly on you). It just wasn't meant to be for the Vikes that night....
>>
>>We may be remembering the game a little differently. The Saints' defense did a pretty darned good job after the Vikings scored TDs on their first two possessions. And most of the fumbles were on plays when a Saints defender stripped the ball. As Troy Aikman said, once you start laying it on the ground the defense starts going for it on every play.
>>
>>Also, as I said to Kevin, that last interception by Favre probably made no difference whatsoever. They were facing fourth and long from outside field goal range.
>
>Turnovers happen. The inexcusable thing was the 12 men in the huddle penalty. That was 100% avoidable, AND it took them out of field goal range. Without that penalty, I don't think Farvre would have tried to pass.

They were still within Longwell's field goal range. But even still, Favre could have gotten another 10 yards just by running a bit and falling down. The pass was idiotic.
