LOL

Politics in 2010 consists of sides striking out at each other over issues whose outcome soon ceases to be the focus. In this case we have a set of "cool dude" climatologists who had all the attention and started believing they were bullet-proof and above the rules. Thanks to the blogosphere and the internet age, they were exposed- something that would have been far more difficult against such a group in the good old days. Now the sceptics will have their turn. Meanwhile the world is or isn't partially or completely at threat and it's difficult for us to tell because the sides are conducting a battle rather than a debate.

Experts say that people are tired of the constant jousting and are turning for "education" and "news" to groups or channels that support their own prejudice. IOW attitudes are continuing to polarize and harden- another behavior that our kids will shake their heads about in 20 years.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
