I am having issues with one of the computers running vfp9 on xp platform. the MSVCR71.DLL comes up missing in windows system32. we replace it and next time we start vfp9, it comes up missing again and the program won't start. once we replace the dll, the program runs normally.

Two questions -
while i doubt this with 99% of my common sense, can this be vfp9 that is creating this havoc?

can i place the missing dll in another area of the program contraols so that it will not be deleted?

I realize that the cause may be related to registry issues or virus - but i would like to rule out vfp9 being the cause first of all.

If it is a registry issue - is there a registry entry i can correct directly?

I guess that's three questions.
