>I don't want to sound like being rude here but I think you're a little impatient by jumping from one language to another too soon. IMHO, you won't appreciate something new by easily giving up on it easily.

>Now that you're no longer dependent on MS, do you think you're totally free. No. You're becoming dependent into something which happens to be not an MS thing. And if someone decides to make use of MS product, it doesn't mean MS holds control of his/her future.

The journey has taken about 4 years. But to be honest I was mostly programming in VFP during this period. I spent the most time with C#.Net. Java was about 6 months. So I'll accept the criticism.

However, I totally disagree about me just changing masters. In the case of MS it's one master. In the case of Python it's 100's of thousands. That said, if there is any issue of being dependent - it would be Dabo. But in defense - I have all the source code. I help develop the code (mostly access to Postgres). And I suggest any user of Dabo has the ability to support Dabo. What I'm saying here is if the Dabo users group disappeared tomorrow I could still maintain the framework. IMO most open source projects are not very easy to maintain because they are written in C, C++, or some other compiled language. But that's not the case with Dabo - it's written in python and small enough for me to understand most of it without a lot of work.
