>>>I was sitting at a red light with my daughter in the car with me and I looked up in the rear view mirror to see a van barrelling at me at around 45 mph. They ran right into us and right before the crash I could see the driver (a grandmother and the parent of my daughter's teacher) turned around in the front seat talking to the little girl in the back seat (who turned out to be the daughter of my daughter's teacher). She also had a cell phone in her hand at the same time. So see, cell phones do cause crashes :o)
>>>
>>>I hope you got out of the car and kicked the crap out of grandma (and hopefully you slapped your daughter's idiot boyfriend upside the head).
>>>
>>>Cell phones, kids yacking to each other while driving, putting on makeup, eating and drinking, smoking, fiddling with radio, reading the newspaper, just about anything distracting (as you mentioned).
>>>
>>>You put on makeup while you drive? Wow...I spike my hair and check out chicks when I drive. :)
>>
>>I didn't write that. :o) No, I have NEVER put on makeup in the car, period. I don't get that. However, I have seen other women (and men) put on makeup in the car while stopped at a light. That's why I listed it. I certainly do NOT do the things I listed. I was listing things that generally cause distractions and cause accidents.

>I used to ride motorcycles quite a lot and one of the things that I really liked was the complete lack of distraction. No talking(arguing ) passengers. No radio/CD/MP3 player. Just you a speedo and a rev counter and a road . Bliss

Nick, I hope "speedo" means a speedometer and not the swim wear. That's a sight I don't think I'd want to see :)
