If everyone in the history of Fox felt that way, everyone would still be using 2.6 for DOS....

Things like Trutype fonts, Word 2 and FP2.5 were no-brainers to spend the $, because they were immediately better than what they replaced. I well remember my first inkjet printer and the scaling fonts I could produce instead of dotmatrix output. Windows for workgroups and its network that turned out to be shonky but still was a benefit. VFP3 brought huge improvement. But a lot of the "change" out there these days seems to require you to take 2 steps forward and 2 steps back, iow it's hard to see that you've actually gotten advantage after the dust settles. I gave the example of L2S and certain features that EF4 is still limping toward after MS foxed L2S. What are those L2S people to do? Keep using L2S as it loses currency with field types and vendor attention, or sacrifice productivity so they can have the new car smell? And who does it serve to put them in that position?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
