It was marketed, for a while. That it was not is a canard. It was presented alongside VB and VC++ at Microsoft Developer Days. I know, because I was a presenter at two of them. I can also tell you it was well received by the VB and VC developers at those sessions, even if there was a common preamble of "I had no idea."OK. I never saw any of that. I saw MS salespeople promoting VB and SQL Server and looking blank or saying "don't worry about that" when somebody raised VFP.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
