This is very helpful. How does XP mode avoid using the SMB2 protocol - assuming it does not display the bug? I thought all VM's (including VirtualBox, etc) use the what the host OS provides for SMB. Also does this bug apply to both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of windows 7.
