Maybe I'm being dense here. Are you saying XP mode does not use SMB2? How does it talk to a server? We have a client reporting that they can not get one of our older programs to run (vfp 9 SP1) to run correctly under windows 7 (32bit) XP mode. The program is using DBF's with indexes connecting to windows 2008. This could be many things but still it worries us about other clients moving to windows 7.
