>My company is using a FoxPro 2.6 time reporting system with an ODBC connection to a Windows NT Server. The problem we are having is that the ODBC connection appears to be a bottle neck that makes response times incredibly long with the 500 users that we are trying to support. I would like your recommendation on how response times can be reduced to a reasonable level using the ODBC connection, or will reverting to accessing native FoxPro tables speed response times. What are the pros and cons.

You don't tell much about the configuration of your network. And ODBC is perhaps the only choice. The 6.0 VFP ODBC driver has some nice improvements. They claim it is faster and most interesting for you it supports parameterized remote views. This means that you could easily retrieve only the necessary subsets of information required and this would definitively speed things up.
If you don't have VFP 6 and want to give the new driver a try, it's available on Microsoft web site. Search for "Data Access"
