Microsoft Announces Service Pack for Visual Studio 6.0 Products

REDMOND, Wash. - October 7, 1998 - Microsoft Corp. today announced that a Service Pack for Visual Studio 6.0 products will be available by the end of the month. The Service Pack addresses specific binary compatibility conflicts between run-time re-distributable files from prior versions of Visual Studio. This update is an immediate response to inform our customers about known issues. As with all Service Packs, Microsoft recommends that developers install the current Service Pack prior to releasing their Visual Studio-developed applications so they can redistribute the latest run-time files.
