Two reasons, but maybe you can already do with Visual Studio.

1. You dont need Excel loaded..is this the case with Visual Stuid if you roll your own ?
2. They clain its about 20 times faster

>I didn't use a 3rd party tool to do that and I don't see a need to do so. Why don't you simply do it yourself. Automating Excel using C# is easy using VSTO and it has been made easier in .Net 4. Did you check VS2010 beta or RC and training materials about it.
