Latest update from Microsoft on the SMB2 bug:

I am now working with Rich Chambers who is a Senior Support Escalation Engineer. He is in the process of reproducing the error on his side. I started with Irshad, then Shubh, then Shilpesh, and now Rich. All of them have been very professional, but I'm still waiting for any actual movement towards a fix. Rich - pending successful reproduction of the issue - seems very committed to fixing the bug.
