No, I don't (yet) have QuickTime installed. I have set WMP to be the default player for .WAVs.

However, I'm pretty sure that's not relevant here. The FireFox browser (and I think IE too) defines its own handlers for various file types, independent of whatever you may have set in Windows. According to the plugin info in my earlier post, the WMP plugin for FF does not seem to support .WAV audio. It does support .WMA .

I suspect that .WAV is not commonly used on the Web, as it's not compressed - it's the audio equivalent of a .BMP or .TIFF. Although it works OK for your purposes since the files are relatively small, for anyone streaming music etc. the bandwidth requirements for .WAV would be too high.
