I have sold 500-600 copies of a software package that uses SQL server. The SQL server (2005 Express still because I have not changed it to 2008 yet) is installed through my software. I would say about 95% of the cases the customer does not have any problems installing it. With 64bit processors becomming more common there are some problems but I have overcome those issues by giving manual install options (64bit packages are included but not used automatically). In less than 1% of the cases there is something screwed up with the Windows so the customer has to download some crazy app from M$ fo fix a component that didn't uninstall propperly (XML6).
