It'll probably look good once they take down that scaffolding and plastic sheeting.
Incidentally, I once had it on good authority that the infamous Grosvenor Sq riot, v Vietnam War, 1968, nearly caused an international crisis between USA and GB.
It turns out that a moat is not necessary. The ground floor of the embassy is merely a large concourse with elevators. If the rioters had got in they wouldn't have got any further. But, as the building is US territory, there were a squad of armed marines with orders to shoot to kill. That wouldn't have helped the "special relationship" :-)
