You have probably already done this but please tell Zach not to feel guilty about it. It's a common reaction after something like this happens -- damn, I should have done more. He did the best he could, and probably more than most. One thing I can tell you from personal experience and a lot of observation is that an addict is not going to stop unless he or she truly wants to.
