yes its quite good. There's a few bit missing in the text bit that helps a bit with getting you to dig in the guide.
I managed to complete most of the nerddinners site today and I think I saw to another walkthrough using EF which I will take a look .

I have found the free chapter relating to this sample Nerd Dinner app to be VERY HELPFUL in learning Asp.Net MVC. I am very new to Asp.Net Webforms, and I switched some of my study time over to MVC, and I must say that I find it very easy to learn, assuming you have some pre-existing knowledge of the basic .Net platform and C# language.
