>>I don't think anyone advocating legalising is expecting there to be no controls at all. Why shouldn't it be the same as driving while drunk or the same as selling alcohol to under age. Most employers would have a problem with you turning up to work drunk, exactly the same could apply to turning up to work stoned.
>>Yes its a bad thing but by criminalsing it we've given criminals a solid revenue stream.

>So, let's say we legalise it. Will it be legal for kids under 18? Probably not, so the criminals still have a revenue source, and we have loosed Pandora. Use of pot is now a misdemeanor in most jurisdictions. Selling it isn't.

>>Look at it from the other side. Is the current approach working. Ever read this as a headline. "Drug use drops 50% as police get grip. Millions say 'No we won't take drugs its illegal '"
>
>Nor have I read "Homicides down by 50%, Millions say we are too chillaxed to kill"

Look - beer isn't legal for kids under 18 either. Neither is voting or driving a car. You're suggestion of criminals still having a revenue stream after pot is legal makes no sense at all.
And again you've brought murder into the argument. You want to reduce murder??? Then legalize pot so the deadly drug cartels don't end up with all the money and feel the need to use violence to protect their illegal business!!
