Actually I probably dislike it for the exact reason that you like it. I only have to alias fields in selects when I repeat field names. Which I seldom do.
I also like to be able to recall the field names w/o having to look them up. And I hate underscores. Mostly just because I don't like typing them. (yea I'm just that lazy)
All personal reasons. Nothing that should keep someone else from using your standards.
