>Hi folks, I'm confident this question has been discussed before but I've not been around a lot lately and haven't seen this discussed. So my question is: Are there any issues with running VFP9 on Win7? The reason I ask is I'm about to get a new box and need to decide which OS (XP vs Win7) I want installed. So any insights will be appreciated.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a notebook with Bitlocker on and my data in a mounted TrueCrypt volume. VFP9 is very stable if that's what you're worried about.
I do have one problem, still not solved. There is a Windows Aero problem in which submenus open to the left instead of the right. In Vista, this was solved with the GdiSetBatchLimit workaround (
http://blogs.msdn.com/calvin_hsia/archive/2007/04/26/foxpro-menu-items-combo-boxes-not-refreshing-selected-item-under-aero-in-vista.aspx), but while my app runs fine in Vista systems, the submenus still open to the left in Win7. (If I switch off Aero's "Use visual styles on Windows and buttons", they are back to normal.)
Don't hesitate to change. If I can't solve the above I'll have to go with a different menu system, but that's no drama.
