I hear ya. You probably don't like cops stopping people for having expired tags either. Of course, one of our LPR cars attempted to stop a guy 2 nights ago, for expired tags. The guy ran, busted a red light, then crashed into another car, fled the scene on foot, got tangled up in barbed wire, and was ultimately apprehended. He was on parole for robbery, and had 3 outstanding aggravated burglary warrants on him. He was drunk and high, and the officers retrieved some crack from him and the car. He is a one man crime wave, but he is chillaxin in our jail today - all because I decided to extend the LPR application so it would check for expired tags and other stuff, and the officers in the field are using it. Don't give me that why aren't you chasing real criminals stuff, because we encounter crime and criminals everywhere.
