You're right, that comment out of context is pretty extreme. It was in response to the specific question related to adding a property to a parent class, using that property in a child, and then later removeing the property from the parent. If the property was added as a aprt of the interface definition of the current class and its children, then it is very unlikely that it will alter be reomved from the parent. Subsequent removel from the parent indicates that it never belonged in the parent in the first place.
