Johnny,

Check the help file. It says the following about isEmpty for a string:

Returns a logical value indicating if the string value is empty. If allowEmptyValue = true, empty means an empty string If allowEmptyValue = false, empty means an empty or null string

Each possible variable type passed in has its own defintion.

>When is Empty -- Empty? When the business rules are automatically generated with the BLG it uses the mmType.IsEmpty method to test if the value of a string is empty. In MM.NET what is the definition of "Empty"? A string with nothing but spaces is empty to me. I blanked out a controls value by tabbing to it and deleting all the characters. I then Save the changes. The breakpoint shows that the rule is validated but the if (mmType.IsEmpty(string)) fails and does not indicate the string is empty with spaces in it. The database table schema for that column is a char(10) not a varchar(10) so I am assumming that is why the spaces are there even though I deleted them in the bound control.
