I only use the C: for the system + programs. Currently allocated 64 Gb, used 30 Gb. A ssystem backup takes about 23 Gb on an external drive
You only need the C: drive - unless you have installed programs outside the C:
But why don't you try to do a system image backup and see how it goes ?

>Second TeraByte Drive has one partition. It is this drive that I back everything up to. I do my backups about 1 to 3 times per week. It's probably overkill, but what the heck. It came in handy when my Primary hard drive's electronics failed completely. I am so glad I had a backup.
