The reason for cloaking VFP is simply to make life harder for those competitors that have tried to decompile my applications. Also, from a user's perspective, when VFP.exe fails it doesn't look professional, the assumption from the client is that you've written the application yourself, almost by hand, so they're often confused as to who has written what when an error occurs. It also makes life much easier for them to have your application supported elsewhere.
