You need an audio plug-in to hear sound in FireFox. There is a Windows Media Player plug-in for FF but it does not play .WAV files, which is what Michel uses for the notification sounds on this site.
Bottom line, you need to install the Apple QuickTime player to hear UT sounds from FireFox. It installs a plugin that can play .WAVs.
You can search the threads here (to/from me) for more info.
