If you have an example of anything that prints it (as simple as possible), print it into a file, then look into that file with a good magnifying hex editor. Also, last time I had to muck with that kind of stuff, Epson had good manuals on their website, of the kind which described the byte sequences for each printer (or printer protocol).

It's quite possible that your printer may be using a vertical layout - one bit per needle, vertically, plus one extra byte for the 9th needle... which is very cumbersome if so. I'm just lucky I didn't have to do anything much - just redefined a few characters so the little Star receipt printer would have šđžčć and ŠĐŽČĆ, no logotypes, thanks. And that was long ago, thanks for bringing up weird memories :).

So... epson dot com is your best bet.
