They approached me about my plans to do a version of SDT for SQL Server and when I told them I wasn't planning to do so, they asked me if it was OK if they used the SDT methodology in creating their toolkit. Although they certainly didn't have to, I thought it was very decent of them to ask. Definitely good guys.

Stonefield ...
( "Know it? ... I *wrote* it!" )

Yeah, Steve Taylor told me about that. They *really* would have liked to have you on board. <g> Still would.I've been trying to convince them they need DBCX2 - or at least to extend the metadata store in DDT - but of course they have a lot on their plate and I haven't yet quite figured out how well the concepts would translate in .NET - Sure is cool in VFE though.

What .NET really needs (hey all you tool builders out there) is a decent property sheet - one that would let you quickly see all the non-default properties or to have a "favorites" list based on parentclass. ( ala the cool stuff you Vfox folks created for foxpro )

Since the property sheet is a .NET class the IDE is pretty extensible I would think it would actually be easier in .NET.

Somebody making the very powerful stuff that is available with smart tags at design time more easily implemented would also be nice. I've been trying to convince Toni SF needs her RAD touch.

Can't we lure you over to the Dark Side? We have cookies ... <g>

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
