>> BTW - What's the difference between the different frameworks I've heard of?

There are way to many differences to really discuss it here. The basically fall into two categories, monolythic and ones that support n-tier development.

ProMatrix and Visual MaxFrame are the two most popular in the monolythic category. Of the commerical frameworks, The Mere Mortals Framework and Visual FoxExpress are the two most popular that support n-tier development. (The framework that comes with VFP 6 is also monolythic.)

If you're coming from a Fox 2.x background, the monolythic frameworks will probably be easier to understand and for you to get up and running with.

If you see n-tier development on your horizon, you'll want to choose one of the others. The frameworks that support n-tier are also suitable for a monolythic app, but the overhead may be higher and the learning curve is higher. In general these frameworks also tend to have a more complete object model.

The Mere Mortals Framework is a commercial version of Codebook with a lot of enhancements and very high quality documentation. You can download Codebook from www.flashusa.com, so since it's free, if you add it to your wish list, it's sure to be approved. I'd recommend checking it out, and if you like the architechture, then you'll want to look at the Mere Mortals Framework of Visual FoxExpress. If you don't like it's architechture you'll want to look further into the monolythic frameworks or into - god forbid :-) - writing your own.

Also, both ProMatrix and Visual FoxExpress include RAD tool interfaces to the framework if that's something that interests you.

I believe all of them have sample applications you can download, although sample applications without source don't really tell you very much about the framework.
