Brian Madden is a very well known expert in Citrix and Terminal Server. Te article is on spot; you have to take into account that with Windows 2008 Server some features were introduced, such as seamless windows, published applications, SSL gateway, and balancing (though a limited balancing).

I think that if you only publish one applicacion, then Citrix does not make that much sense, taking into account that you are going to spend some 300-400 dolars more per user. But if you have several applications with a complex workspace and/or infraestructure, then citrix will help you a lot.

>Interesting - well I guess I've learned something new. I did run across this article which has some good points.

>>Victor, Citrix seats on top of Terminal Server. You need both licences, and each user license in Citrix is much more expensive than the licences of Terminal Server. But Citrix is way more powerful, and if you have a lot of users it makes sense.
>>
>>You might get 50-60 users comfortably in a Terminal Server with 4GB of RAM, which is the top for Windows Server standar edition. If you want more users, then you can add more RAM but you have to upgrade to entreprise edition wich is 2.000 dolars more expensive than the standar edition.

>>In any case, the Disk and memory subsystems are going to be the real bottleneck. For these servers, a SSD makes a lot of sense.

>>>I have a VFP app that's gone though the same cycle (2.5 to 9.0) that runs off a terminal server with an average of 55 users.
>>>
>>>The box has a LOT of memory in it and the network is quite solid. The users don't experience issues with performance - the only complaint I have is the insane cost of that many TS licenses. I have another client in a similar situation that opted for Citrix - which works just as well - but from what I was told it was quite a bit cheaper to implement.

It also began life in FoxPro DOS 2.5 and is now in VFP 9. The question is : How do you get 35-40 users running sessions of Terminal Server and VFP on one machine. What kind of performance do you get? What are the specs on the servers? Thanks for any input.
