Hello,

We are using Crystal Reports for many years to display reports in our software.
Our customers also buy/use the software to edit their reports.

We connect (temporary) database(s) to our reports using the xBase-data connector.
Since version 2008 (worst version ever) we cannot link databases with memo-fields to the report.

I get the 'Unknown Database Connector Error'. When I remove all memo-fields in my database, i have no problem.

The same problem is explained in this thread : https://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=5691868

On my developer-machine i have Windows XP and CR XI en CR 2008. On this machine i replaced the crdb_p2bxbse.dll with the older version from CR XI and it works :-)

BUT on a clean machine with Windows 7 and only CR 2008 installed i also replaced the DLL but it still doesn't work :-(

Does anyone have any idea about the big problem. We cannot recommend CR 2008 to our customers when they can't link memo-datbases to their reports.

I can provide the report and database-files to link if you want me to...

Version of Crystal Reports is 12.0.0.683.

Pleaseeeee help me....
