Hi Sam

This is from Trent Taylor of Microfour :

"Charles. Yes, you can do this. You have several options when dealing with working with records like this. Think of this, our medical application is a very technical financial transaction environment that has people posting from many workstations at the same time and needs to wrap all of this in transactions to prevent double-posting, etc. So clearly this is possible from a number of different perspectives (our situation being the most complicated). As you mentioned, you can work within the BO and create/edit as many rows as you need, wrap them in transactions, and save. We also have the built-in logic that you mentioned in the BO for snapshots, etc. To be honest, I have yet to run into a situation that would elude the design of the framework from this perspective as this is a pretty common need. Hope this helps."

If you need any more details or think you have a scenario that might be difficult to implement you really need to stop by the SF forum. (if you can't post let me know and I'll either post for you or get you access) Of you can email Trent directly

>The frameworks I have worked with in the past seem to be designed expecting that I will be editing one record at a time from a given table. If I attempt to add or edit another record in the same table without saving the first record I edited, I am forced to either save the changes or abandon the changes before I can move to and edit another record.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
