May have just been a Yalie thing <g> But the point was regarding the "annointed elite" and assumptions about their fitness to make decisions for the peasants and to some extent I do agree. I have a natural suspicion of "experts" who are such because they are part of mutual admiration societies and adhere to the orthodoxy. Tenured faculty is certainly the epitome of this syndrome especially in the arts, humanities and soft sciences.

>On the bright side, I just got an email about the VS 2010 version of Infragistics NetAdvantage. Free download for me.

I will probably be buying a license very soon for a project I just started. Definitely want to have the stuff available when I seriously start WPF.

Have you tried the SF Infragistics wrappers yet? After years of struggling with this kind of stuff in Fox when even the vendor didn't have a clue how to make it work with VFP (except for DBI) I was stunned at how easy it is to use a businessbindingsource to hook up third party stuff.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
