I think they'll survive another seven years. The 'For compatibility with dBase' phrase is just an excuse for writing fewest possible words in Help.

I think you're right. :) My goodness, if they threw away all the "old" stuff, VFP would be half the size. I don't think we're in any danger of that soon. And if there's no better way to do something (how could I work without PCount()??), using what's there is no crime.

What I worry more about are those functions that are "provided for incompatibility with your client's machine." :)
