>>>All you haters, quit drinking the hateraide. I wish he had stayed at Memphis, but he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of coaching Kentucky. Memphis has the number 1 recruiting class in the country coming in next year, so we'll be back!
>>>
>>>Good luck to Coach Cal and the U of K!

>>Whoops ;-)

>>I think you know I was cheering for Kentucky in the tournament. West Virginia took them down yesterday. W. Va. is a good team, deserving of their #2 seed. They were the better team.
>>
>>This has been a wacky tournament. Probably more upsets than any year in memory. Or maybe they aren't really upsets. An ESPN columnist wrote that this is the year the term "mid major" officially died. Teams like Butler, Northern Iowa, St. Mary's, they're good teams.
>>
>>Butler is in the final four. A couple of 5 and 6 seeds still playing. It's good for basketball.
>>
>>Every year this month I feel like college hoops is so much more enjoyable than the pros. The college game exhibits the enthusiasm of youth. The NBA seems cold and cynical in comparison. They barely put forth an effort until the playoffs.
>>
>>What I honestly don't get is why the top collegians rush to the NBA. What's wrong with being a BMOC? Everything is provided for you, every last thing. The pro money will still be there for you in a year or two. I hope John Wall returns to Kentucky next year to complete unfinished business.

We are in agreement yet again. John Calipari is exhibit A. He can coach. UMass was a nothing program when he took them to the final four, and Memphis and Kentucky were also in dry stretches.

Michigan State takes out Tennessee to make it to the end again. Speaking of good coaches. I was an OK ballplayer, not good enough for the Big Ten, and would love to have played for Tom Izzo. It's really amazing that they are in the final four without their best player. What I admire about Izzo -- what I admire about successful people in any walk of life -- is that he has high standards without being a jerk about it.
