IOW is an acronym meanind In Other Words.

To delete a control in grid column, select the control in PEM sheet then click on form designer title and press delete. HOWEVER, it is unlikely that you would really want to delete a control in grid column. If you are doing it to delete the default text1 control when you add another control, then don't do it (I don't undetrstand why many people do). You don't need to remove the 'text1', just change the CurrentControl property value in column.
